Hi, I’m Kelly, NTP.
I am a wife and a mom to four wonderful children. We live in the suburbs and try to grow as much of our own food as possible. We even raise chickens in our backyard!
I am a passionate learner, reader and gardener. I love to spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes and finding ways to preserve our harvest each year.
Throughout the years our family has encountered a lot of obstacles with our physical, mental and emotional health. At age 16 one of my sons was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. That led me into a search for how to help him live a long and wonderful life free of complications. Guess what? So much was connected to the food he ate. I began to dive into the world of protein, fats and carbs and nutritional foods.
For a long time we just did whatever the doctors told us for all of our health issues. It wasn’t until we were completely desperate for answers did we ever consider something besides traditional medicine. Once that door opened I jumped right in to the research and haven’t stopped!
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is a food-first, root-cause approach to health and wellness. It takes an in-depth look at how the food you eat and your lifestyle and environmental exposures play a role in how you feel. It is the art and science of supporting the body’s natural ability to heal by balancing the foundations of health with special emphasis on bio-individuality and the body’s innate wisdom.
In Greek, Panax means “ALL HEALING.” At Panax Nutritional Therapy we use a deep foundational and bio-individual approach to functional, holistic nutrition to balance body chemistry and achieve optimal wellness. Our focus is on the body’s innate ability to heal by addressing the importance of nutrient-dense food, lifestyle choices, culinary wellness, and how social and personal components influence health.
